Introducing our New Priest-in-Charge
Father Jeff Sharp and his wife, Connie, joined us at Resurrection on July 1.
Jeff and Connie have served as cross-cultural missionaries in Asia and Eastern Europe and Jeff has served as a Senior Minister in Churches in San Francisco, Hong Kong and Vancouver, Canada. Both Connie and Jeff have been involved in leadership training and seminary teaching. Jeff has a Ph.D. in New Testament and Connie a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology. Connie is working as Lead Psychologist at Rainier School in Buckley.
While they have spent a great deal of their life serving in another denomination, they have found a spiritual home within the Episcopal Church. Jeff was ordained an Episcopal priest in June.
When asked what drew him to the Episcopal Church, Jeff says that it is the culmination of a journey which began decades ago. In particular, like many others, it is the beauty, biblical and theological grounded-ness, and spirituality of the Prayer Book that nourishes his relationship with God. He has found in the Episcopal Church/Anglican wing of the Christian Church an incarnational, liturgical, sacramental expression of the faith that not only speaks to him, but also, he believes to the spiritual hunger of the world the church is sent into to share the Good News of God's invitation to full and abundant life in Christ.
Jeff and Connie have two adult children and three granddaughters. They enjoy movies, walks, and exploring the rich surroundings of the Pacific Northwest, both natural and cultural. Oh, and Jeff also enjoys good coffee!
