Outreach ministries take gifts within our parish - our time, talent and treasure - and applies them for the good of our greater community. Hearts & HammersHearts & Hammers is dedicated to providing free repair and maintenance on the homes of people who are physically or financially unable to do this work by themselves. We are lending our neighbors a hand so they can safely and comfortably stay in their homes. More information is available here. Belize Mission tripMissionary trip to Belize- Jan. 14-23, 2011. For the eleventh year, a medical and contruction team will be going to Dangigra, Belize. For more information please contact Rev. Seaman's MinistryThe Seattle Seamen's Center, headed by Bishop William Choi, is an ecumenical ministry that brings Christian services to the crews of the ships on the Seattle waterfront. Resurrection has made numerous contributions to the Center, as have many churches in the Seattle area. Each fall, the people of Resurrection help assemble ditty bags containing personal hygiene articles, books, watch caps, and other items. These are distributed by the Center to the crew members during the holiday season. Episcopal Charities Appeal (ECA)ECA is an annual program which provides support for ministries throughout the diocese. United Thank Offering (UTO)Distributed on the first Sunday of October, small blue and white contribution boxes (mite boxes) remind us to practice the discipline of thanksgiving in our lives. These mite boxes are collected during the UTO In-Gathering in November. Eastside Baby CornerVolunteers provide needed contributions for distribution. Crossroads DinnersEvery fifth Thursday, meals are served at the Salvation Army Congregations for the HomelessAn Eastside minstry that provides homelss Men beds and 3 nutritious meals daily by caring multi-faith integenerational volunteers. Kairos Prison MinistryMembers of the church spend a weekend in a local prison sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ and bringing people to Christ. Skagit Valley Mission TripYouth from East side churches conduct an August Vacation Bible School for Hispanic children in the Skagit Valley. We also provide Christmas gifts for the Skagit Valley children. Thanksgiving BasketsBellevue families are provided with Thanksgiving baskets. Caleb ministryClothing is collected for distribution in Romania and Africa. Drop-In ChildcareChildcare is provided for children ages 21/2-6 from 11:30- 3 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays during the Bellevue school year. Sudanese MinistryWe support a Sunday afternoon Sudanese Episcopal Church. More information is here. |
