Kairos Prison Ministry

Kairos Prison Ministry is an inter-denominational ministry which serves the Washington State prisons at Monroe, Purdy, McNeill Island and Clallam Bay Correction Centers. At each center, four retreats and monthly reunion meetings are organized and hosted by Kairos (outside and inside) volunteer teams, as a way to build and nurture small Christian prayer and share groups within the prisons. Kairos Outside is a special ministry for the female relatives of the prisoners and is conducted outside the prisons. Kairos Torch is another special ministry for youth inmates. Unconditional love (agape), forgiveness and hope are offered and found, for all here.

The Washington State Kairos Prison Ministry is a branch of the Kairos Prison Ministry International, which operates in 30 States in the US, and in 9 other countries. It is essentially a Lay ministry with Spiritual leadership by the Clergy.

Resurrection has continuously participated in this ministry since it began in this state in 1986. This ministry provides a wide array of opportunities for all to be part of prison ministry. It is supported by prayers, four thousand dozen cookies and meals (when permitted), prepared for the semi-annual retreats, letters and art work of encouragement, donations and volunteering on the outside Teams. You are always invited and welcome to join this ministry.
