Matthew 25:36 "...I was in prison and you came to visit me..."

The Mission of Kairos Prison Ministry is to share the transforming love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ to impact the hearts and lives of men, women, and youth, as well as their families, to become loving and productive citizens of their communities.

The Church of the Resurrection has supported Kairos Prison Ministry of Washington, since inception in 1986, with prayers, donations, cookies, letters, banners, team members, and leaders, etc. The Outreach Committee and the Parish have recently continued this tradition generously.

The Kairos Prison Ministry International currently operates in 32 US States and 9 countries including Costa Rica, Australia, South Africa, England, Canada, Northern Ireland, Dominican Republic, Peru and Australia. Over 36,000 volunteers serve in over 400 prisons and 55 outside prison programs.

In our State, Kairos Inside teams conduct 4 and 2 day Retreats annually and monthly Reunions

1. Washington State Reformatory #52, Monroe, WA
2. Washington Corrections Center for Women #45, Purdy, WA
3. Clallam Bay Corrections Center #15, Clallam Bay, WA

Two of our favorite priests, Rev. Mary MacKenzie (at WCCW), and Canon Fred Jessett (at WSR) are on the Spiritual Teams for the Spring Retreats. Do generously pray and support all Team Members and the prisoners they serve.

In our State, Kairos Outside teams serve female family members of those in prison at 3-day Retreats:

1. Kairos Outside of Western Washington #32
2. Kairos Outside of Eastern Washington #2

The Closing events for Kairos Inside and Outside Retreats are open to all.
