The Church of the Resurrection was founded in 1957 as a mission church in the Lake
Hills neighborhood of Bellevue by St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Medina. This new
congregation moved into its brand new buildings in the 152nd block of Main Street
in 1962.
We have members from all age groups and many different backgrounds. Some folks hail
from the local area; many others have come to Resurrection from different parts
of the country or across the world. Some have been raised in the Episcopal (or Anglican)
Church while others came from different church traditions or did not have an active
relationship with any type of church.
This broad diversity of backgrounds is one expression of God's abundance among us
- and one which makes our fellowship and ongoing practice of our faith all the more
interesting and vibrant.
The Church of the Resurrection participates in the Lake Hills Interfaith Covenant
with its partner congregations St. Louise Roman Catholic Church, Cross of Christ
Lutheran Church, Temple B'nai Torah and The Episcopal Church of the Holy Apostles.
We are located close to Crossroads Mall, Lake Hills library, Microsoft, Bellevue
College, and both Sammamish and Interlake High schools.
Our Mission
We are called to shine the light of God's love.
Our Vision
The Church of the Resurrection will be a household of God that welcomes people of
all ages and backgrounds, actively reaching out to know our neighbors, understand
their needs and look for ways to serve them, centered in Christ's compassion, joy
and reconciling love. We are committed to inviting, hospitality, learning and service.
